Filmation's Ghostbusters Review

I'm sure that mostly everyone is familiar with the Ghostbusters films and cartoon. But did you know there a live-action Ghostbusters tv series that was done by Filmation. The live-action show starred Forest Tucker, Larry Storch, and Bob Burns as Tracy the Gorilla (credited as Tracy's trainer). The show only lasted 16 episodes.
Fast forward to 1985 where Columbia wanted to create a cartoon based on the Ghostbusters movie, but could only use the name for the movie, while Filmation was one of the companies vying to make the Ghostbusters cartoon. Long story short, Columbia went to DIC for the cartoon, and their series The Real Ghostbusters, while Filmation created their own Ghostbusters series using the characters from the old TV show, hoping to bank on the name.
Now let's get to the series itself, nd just taking a look at the 1st 5 episodes in series. The show revolves around Jake and Eddie Jr. (the sons of the original characters), and the Gorilla Tracy who apparently created all their gadgets. The 1st episodes revolve around Jake (who has a nose that twitches whenever a ghost is around), Eddie( who is a chicken) going through time to rescue their fathers from Prime Evil a ghost who trapped on a safe for 100 years because of the ghostbusters, Along the way they're joined a future ghostbuster named Futura, which is odd because wouldn't the future be the present for her, and travel to Midevil times, ancient Egypt, and prehistoric times.
So is the show any good, as far as animation goes, no. In the Filmation tradition they recycle animation, and most of the time theiy're walking towards or away from something. It also looks like the characters are starring of into space most of the time. Having said that, the characters, for the most part, although a couple got my nerves, they're some funny bits in it, and like most Filmation series there's just a certain charm to it. I give it a 3/5.
